Re: Male Fertility Test

With insurance, it's probably much cheaper to do a SA through the doctor and it is more accurate. I don't know how accurate the at home tests are. But, I'm glad your DH is all for it!

Re: Male Fertility Test

Out of pocket cost at my RE for an SA is $150 (without insurance)...and odds are your insurance will cover it. I think the cost for the drugstore one is $99 dollars...but I've heard they are pretty accurate. If you have concerns though I'd do it through a doctor, but if it's just to check it out I don't think it would be inaccurate, KWIM?

I made DH do this, I would say it was accurate, since a few months later I was PG

Re: Male Fertility Test

We bought the Fertell test this month. We both did our tests and it came out that we are both fine ( as far as FSH level for me and Motility level for him.)

For us it was totally worth it. The test cost $69. on sale at babyhopes.com. For us to walk in the door to our doctors office it cost us $40 each (co pay) and who knows what our insurance covers for the SA test.

I found that one but i hadn't seen it for that cheap, thanks for the link. I just spent 180 on CBEFM so i really don't want to buy it right now but DH is really pushing me to get it, I think he's scared something could be wrong but i keep telling him 3 months isn't that long. Thanks for the help.

Three months of TTC isn't that long at all.

One thing to keep in mind . . . a SA from the MD analyzes overall count, motility, and morphology. Those home tests (regardless of their accuracy) to the best of my knowledge do not measure all three.
