manhattan with small kids
Next weekend DH and I are going to take our 2.5 yr old DS to NYC for the day, and leave the girls with my brother and SIL. What are some fun things to do with him? If it's not to cold we were thinking the Central Park Zoo. My bro and SIL are coming to us in CT to watch the kids so wwe will be taking metro north into grand central- anything within walking distance from there? We are so used to taking the LIRR into penn! What would be a fun place to eat with him? What is South Street Seaport like? Sorry for so many questions, TIA!

I totally recommend Museum of Natural History! When I babysat small (spoiled) kids, that was always such a hit! Its right by the park on the west side.
Then follow W81st street in the park, to Belvedere Castle.
ETA: Once you are in the city, the subway is really easy and fast way to get around.

Re: manhattan with small kids
thanks! DH and I used to be in the city every weekend before kids, and than it became sporadic, and now we havent been there since we moved to CT last year. I never even thought of the museum of natural history!
