Re: Manicure Question???

I did it until I went on bedrest. My dr suggested not doing it during the first trimester b/c of fumes but I did and my DS is just fine. I went mostly during the week when it was slower and the place I went to was well ventilated.

Re: Manicure Question???

I agree that all Dr.'s have different opinions. Mine said he had not read anything saying it was harmful. I get acrylic fill-ins every 2-3 weeks or more so it's not a constant thing. I tried to do some research on regular maincures/pedis and again, every opinion is different. If you are planning on using nailpolish, nailpolish remover, they suggest getting a brand that is formaldehyde free and with no real major harsh chemicals. I found some nail polish in Whole Foods (Jericho) that is formaldehyde free and also free from other chemical agents. I believe they also have a more natural form of nailpolish remover. I bought 2 colors of the polish but haven't used them yet. My best advice is to ask your doc what he or she thinks.

thanks everyone!
I think I will just get a regular manicure today and hold off on the permanent french until the very end or after the baby is born.

I had the perm. french my whole pregnancy. I just went during the day when it wasn't that busy...and asked them to open the doors for me.
