I have no idea what my kitchen cabinets are...but my furniture is a dark espresso/cherry color and I have an open floor plan. Usually I'm a little OCD on these things but I think it looks fine - if anything it seperates my kitchen/living/dining area.

I actually prefer the looks of different woods together. I have cherry cabinets and a black wood table & chairs...

ETA that this is opened to my family room with a white fireplace!

I don't like everything to be all matchy-matchy in my house.

So I vote YES!
