marathon this weekend and Staten Island...??
we have a christening to go to in staten Island. I live in PA, close to Trenton NJ. My mom said signs today on the highway said BOTH SIDES of the bridge shut down from 7-3.
what kind of traffic nitemare am I looking at going from NJ into staten island?? any staten islanders here that can shed some light??
the party is at 3 when the bridge opens, but I imagine it will be backed up.

you are going to take the Verrazano?
you would be much better off to go down and taek the outerbridge or the goethals and avoid the city all together.

we're coming from NJ turnpike and its in staten island so i dont have to cross the bridge. But im figuring since both sides of the Verazzano are closed that it will be murder getting to the goethals and into staten island.

it shouldn't be too bad coming into SI from NJ. The VZ closes early that am and reopens early afternoon.
Depending where on SI you need to be you could always take the Turnpike to the Bayonne bridge.
