March Book Club

We agreed that we are reading "Love is a Mix Tape" and that we are going to meet on March 26th at 7pm. I have not started the book yet...I plan on reading it later this week on my cruise! Since we usually try to pick places that somehow match the book, I cannot do this yet and don't know if you all want to wait till I get back for me to pick a place. Does anyone have a suggestion for a place to meet?

Re: March Book Club

I haven't started the book either, so I have no recommendations for dinner either. Too bad there isn't a Hard Rock Cafe in Long Island! (Only thing I could think of that might fit!)

Re: March Book Club

I'm not sure where everyone lives but there is the Radio Grill in Smithtown on Terry Road. It's owned by Bob Buchman of Q104...
We could also try Cheeburger Cheeburger in Plainview if it's more centrallly located.

I was going to post the same thing...It would take me an hour to get there from Bayside, especially at rush hour time. I'm up for the Plainview place too!!!

Re: March Book Club

So should we say Cheeburger Cheeburger, March 26th at 7pm. They are part of restaurant.com and I can buy a $25 gift certificate for $10....or maybe even a higher amount - like $50 for 20. What do you all think?

Sounds perfect!

I think we will definitely spend $50 if there is at least five of us...so I think the $50 will be good!

Oh good, I'm glad you guys said that.

Cheeseburger Cheeseburger sounds really good! Though probably way too good considering I'll have to be in a bathing suit a week later Chat Icon

I'm starting the book tomorrow (just finishing up my current book today).

Re: March Book Club

Fine with me!!

Have you guys seen the ads about the new show opening on Broadway - The Pirate Queen? It's based on the real-life story of Grace O'Malley -- not OUR Gracelin, but it made me think of her!!

I think I am going to try to see it....

Re: March Book Club

Kara,

My mom had brought tickets for her and I orignally for the 1st Sunday it was out. They decided to start the show 1 week later so our tickets were cancelled. I was so disappointed, we were going to buy tickets for the following week. It was a good thing we didn't, because i am on bedrest for the remainder of the pregnancy.... If you see it let me know how it is.

Morgan we'd LOVE to have you!!

All you have to do is - read the book, and then let whoever is in charge this month know that you will be coming. We meet at 7pm usually the last Monday of the month.

Re: March Book Club

got the book today and started reading during my lunch hour. I'm not familiar with most of the songs/groups he's talking about, but it's certainly a quick read.
