Me! All my doctor told me was that at 32 weeks they would monitor it again, and that worst case scenario I would have a c-section. It's pretty common, and most times the placenta will move off of the cervix before delivery.
Try not to worry too much about it!

Re: marginal placenta previa- anyone have info on this or diagnosed with this

my friend had marginal placenta previa with bleeding and spotting at 21-22 weeks and now at 29 weeks it was reduced to "low lying" placenta. Good news is that they think the placenta will continue to move so she doesn't have to have a C-section.
I am 22 weeks and at 20 weeks the DR. told me I have a "low lying" placenta- no heavy lifting, vigorous exercise, or intercourse. They told me they would recheck in 4 weeks. I think its fairly common, but still something to be careful with. DON't read what's on the internet. I did and was more worried than I needed to be (except for the fact that they said 90% of low lying or marginal cases resolve themselves)

I did!

I was told the exact same thing.. I followed the no lifting rule to a T...as far as no sex... well I broke the rules, but only a couple of timesChat Icon

I NEVER had bleeding and I just went for my follow up sono...and its moved right into place.. Supposedly its very common... however if you dont take care of yourself..it could be dangerous...

OFTEN it moves...so dont worry too much!

If you need to talk FM me!

MY SIL did have placenta previa(not marginal) and was on bed rest for the last month of her pregnancy. I do think it's fairly common and that is a worst case scenario so I wouldn't worry. Just follow your doctors orders and if you see any blood call an ambulance!

If you are not at the end of your pregnancy it can actually move into place. Just take it easy. It's pretty common so don't stress - enjoy the laid back time while you have it! The no nookie part is a drag though. Chat Icon
