Re: Market on Monday....any guesses?
If it goes up, it's because the Market know that Biden's economic plans will be good for the market.
If it goes down, it's because the Market is afraid that with a lame-duck trump at the helm, he'll destroy everything around him on his way out.

Market on Monday....any guesses?
I believe it will go up. Not because of Biden or trump but because there is now a balance of power restored again with Biden as President and the Republicans in the Senate.

This sounds right...and frightening. At some point, when his appeals are exhausted, Trump should concede and demonstrate some graciousness and leadership. It is not yet clear what will happen.

So basically you are saying it is all Trump’s fault again.

Re: Market on Monday....any guesses?
Down, because of the shift in the balance of power. Definitely not because of Trumps reaction. Par for the course. It will go back up.

It went up the night Trump was winning in 2016.

We spent 4 years hearing that everything bad was Obama's and Hillary's fault, so yeah, turnaround is fair play. It's *exactly* what we've been dealing with. See how stupid and sucky that is?....

He will do everything he can to line his own pockets before he is ejected and it won't be pretty. So, sounds about right...

I’m just talking what will happen this time around. Not that it never goes up with a change in the president. I think it will go down.

Re: Market on Monday....any guesses?
Up or down Monday will be just the beginning (my guess would be down) Review your investments, your 401ks and if you don’t have liquid savings start creating it. Every President has brought the need to shift things for me financially. I base it on the polices they are planning. Read them, understand them and if you don’t find someone who can explain it. Just because you don’t make as much as the cutoff for these taxes doesn’t mean you won’t feel the impact. The hated Wall Street isn’t going to like Biden’s tax plan which will cause investors to pull out and invest safer. Corporations will need to raise prices to offset the proposed tax plans which will increase prices for everyone. While many don’t think the market is an indicator of the economy, wait and see what happens if it tanks.
This is not a fear monger post. It is a get informed and be prepared post (that will be different for everyone) No different than I thought and did when Trump took office.

Re: Market on Monday....any guesses?
Goldman Sach's is happy about a Biden presidency and budget plan...
https://fortune.com/2020/10/05/biden-win-2020-us-economy-goldman-sachs-predictions-blue-wave-democrats/
https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/stock-market-outlook-biden-blue-wave-boost-growth-goldman-sachs-2020-10-1029649255
A blue wave this November led by Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden would lead to a surge in economic growth, according to Goldman Sachs. Goldman said in a note on Monday that Democratic control of the presidency and Congress would raise the probability of a fiscal stimulus package worth at least $2 trillion. Longer-term spending measures proposed by Biden targeting infrastructure, climate, healthcare, and education would also help boost economic growth prospects, Goldman said.

Re: Market on Monday....any guesses?
Your first link does not work
Your second link is from early October with an indication there would be a blue wave.
Also don't hold your breath about another stimulus package. I can't see Pelosi doing that now. I hope I am wrong as that could help so many Americans.
