Re: Married teachers...when did you change your name on your cert (s)
I haven't but I don't see myself leaving my job and applying elsewhere. I've been teaching in the same district for 11 years so I don't think it would matter.
If it was something that I needed to display in an office then maybe I would. I earned my permanent under my maiden name so I guess I'll keep it that way. I'm also MS plus 60 so I'm maxed out
BTW: I go by my married name at work. the paperwork doesn't have to match. If you are not finished with your cert. or your degree then I could see why you might want to change it.

I didn't change mine, but I am applying for my permanent certification this summer in my new name.

I am not changing it. At that time in my life when I achieved it I was Jaime C, now I am Jaime M. I like having little bits and pieces of pre marriage stuff lying around and it doesn't really matter which it is in when it comes down to it!!

I changed mine. I had to go down to Court street for something and I did it while I was there. Some people say that it's all complicated if you change it with the board, but I had no problems at all.

my provisional is still in my maiden name, and my permanent is in my married name (but only because I got it after I got married)
