Re: Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 2
I loved season 1!!
I wanted to binge season 2 quickly but we've been so busy since it has come out, I've only gotten to squeeze in 3 episodes.
Does it get better? Because everyone said season 2 was good, but I found the first few episodes cringe worthy and awkward and therefore hard to watch. (especially that wedding speech). Missing the magic of season 1. Does it go back to that soon?

I think it gets so much better! I agree, a couple of the episodes were a little boring!

Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 2
That's my Christmas break activity! Loved season 1!
They filmed in Williston Park and Mineola over the summer, so it will be fun to see it!

Re: Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 2
I just watched all of season 1 and then recently watched episode 1 of Season 2. The first episode was very slow so I'm hoping it picks up.

It gets better. I didn't like the first 3 episodes of season 2. the 3 catskill episodes were fantastic and then the rest was ok. I binged it and want season 3 lol.

Ok in that case SPOILER below, don't read if you didn't watch:
I think Midge comes off as very selfish. She made a decision to tour for 6 months without even thinking about the consequences or how it will affect those involved in her life. She barely interacts with her kids as it is, and now she will be gone from them for 6 months and assuming either her parents or Joel will watch them.
Speaking of Joel, I can't stand him and I absolutely hated that she went back to him in the end to "be with someone that loved her". I doubt she will marry the doctor now, too bad because I liked him and he seemed to accept her even after knowing that she was a comedian.
I wonder if Susie ended up accepting Sophie's offer.

I actually stopped watching this show mid season 1 because I couldn't stand Midge. So even though I don't know what happened this season other than what you just wrote, I 100% agree with you. I couldn't stand her character and it just turned me off to the show.

I agree that Midge is selfish in terms of the kids. They don't eat with them, do anything with them... the kids are such an after thought. Even the grandparents, I mean all 3 of them left the house without the kids. It's all insane. But if she wants to be this big comedy star... she needed to take that tour. There would be no show without that tour. you know?
Joel is such a loser to me and I hate that she went back to him. He doesn't love her. I think the new guy loves her more...
And I think Susie will take the job and that it will cause drama...

Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 2
Just finished the season. I absolutely loved the catskill episodes. I find Susie and Abe hilarious. I don't mind Midge but I can definitely see how the character could be annoying. Yes, she's self involved. That's a big part of the story. If she were selfless there would be no show.
I don't think she loves Benjamin. I think she got wrapped up in the idea of getting married again. She literally forgot about him when she agreed to go on tour. I'd be surprised if we even see him at all next season.
I'm on the fence about Joel. I don't like him but I do think the writers have been trying to make him more likable. My guess is she ends up with him. Or alone. Hopefully alone.
I don't really care about the kids one way or another. The show isn't about the kids or about her being a mom. The goal is her becoming a successful comedian. I would have been super irritated if she said anything but yes to touring.
I assume next season will be Midge on tour and Susie trying to keep it all together between her and Sophie.

Re: Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 2
I really think I am the only person on the planet who was eh about this show. We started watching it last season and while we mildly enjoyed it because we had nothing better to watch- we got a little more than halfway through and then just forgot about it. We just never went back to finish and neither one of us cared. I found it a little boring

Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 2
It's 2:47am and I just binge-watched the season and I mostly loved it!
I loved the Catskills, I adored Abe and Miriam in France (I adore Abe in every scene he's in). Benjamin was ok, but, and I know I'm in the minority here, but Joel has kind of redeemed himself and hope they end up back together but I get the feeling they'll just keep circling each other.
The kid thing doesn't really bother me. Midge is definitely spoiled and selfish but I find it more of a sign of the times and them being well-off that they eat separately and cared for by the house staff.

This exactly! I watched it bc nothing else was on. Loved the style of clothes and scenes. Found it funny, but was LOL or anything. Some episodes better than others. We watched half way and gave up. Maybe will try again since everyone is still talking about it and it's winning so many awards.

i loved the catskills!! more so because i used to go to the catskills as a kid and it's so spot on lol it's 1950s...i think it's normal how "the rich" treated their kids. that wouldn't fly today. i feel bad for benjamin...i was hoping that would work out

Yes! I loved the clothing , the scenes of NYC in the 50's, the style and nostalgia. But the plot line- i was like eh. I never really liked Midge - she just was annoying to me- so that turned me off. Also at the time I think i was watching Crashing on HBO and that was fall down, laugh out loud funny, so this just seemed so blah in comparison.

I liked Benjamin. But I’m re-starting to like Joel too. Going to feel bad for Benjamin when or if he finds out the truth.
I do like Midge; but I think her comedy can get kind of stupid. I liked Susie on MADTv. She’s Ok on this. I’m Not the biggest fan.
What scenes were in Mineola/Williston Park. Anyone know?

Re: Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 2
See, i didn't think she actually 'went back with Joel', i think she just wanted to have a one night thing with someone before heading off for 6 months. If she went to Benjamin for that, she'd have to address the 'why are you leaving' stuff and all she wanted was to feel loved by someone with no questions asked.
and i think Susie did make a deal with Sophie, and will be managing both of them next season.

When Midge and Susie are "on tour" - the gas station that Midge calls Joel from is is on Willis Ave (next to St. Aidan) and the diner where Susie is talking about the bug bites is Biscuits and Barbeque in Mineola.
