I wear them whether they are "in" or not (one foot is slightly smaller than the other, so the strap keeps my shoe from falling off all the time). I wear then with anything -- jeans, work trousers, any type of skirts or dresses, etc. I have them in usually 2-3 colors, because sometimes a black mary jane is too dark for a summery dress -- I also have a brown and a light gray right now for times when a black shoe is too severe.

I still wear them. I find them comfortable. I wear them with skirts only.
I have the kind where the strap is closer to the toes, but I have the regular kind too. I wear the ones with strap closer to the toes more.
