Materinity Leave .. anyone not getting it ?

I work for a small co. I am not yet preg. but will be someday and I have to obviously think about talking to my boss, however, I run this whole place, so I am nervous to bring it up and also I need to know what benefits he will offer me, if any. I just don't want them to think of replacing me or anything before my day even comes.

If you do not have maternity leave - how did you do it financially?

I am in a similar situation. I run a satellite office of a law firm so its basically just me and my secretary here on a daily basis. I asked about an employee manual to find out the policy, but there isn't one. So I just hope and pray its decent and I will have to do whatever i can.

I know I get maternity, but I don't know how long. I am planning on saving up. I got disability insurance in case I can't work due to pregnancy complications. We are also subletting our apartment and moving into my mom's house in LI to help save some money.

I work off the books, so no technical maternity leave for me...we have to work out how long I'm going to stay home, but baby will be coming to work with me.
