Maternity 21 Test
Anyone pay for this?
The Dr. suggested an amnio because of my age, but there is no other reason for it.
I am undecided if I should take this blood test insetad.

Re: Maternity 21 Test
I took it 1.5 weeks ago. Haven't received a bill but was told my max co-pay would be 230. Aside from the benefit of getting further confirmation (I also had the NT scan/quad screening) about trisomy 13/18, and Down's, we were able to find out the gender. We really wanted to know gender so it was especially worth it for us.

Im 40 & my Dr(s) just gave me info on test(s)did not "suggest" anything or express concern. I decided to see what the NT scan and blood work results were before I took any further tests (Mat 21, amnio or CVS) and Dr was ok with that. Ended up not doing any of them.
There is a cost associated with test, my practice said not more then $235.

Re: Maternity 21 Test
I took the materniT21 but did not have to pay for it. I don't know if it was bc I am "of advanced age" or not but I never got any type of bill and that was a long time ago. I like it bc I wanted to know about trisomy and am wary of the invasive tests. . it was quick, easy, and also got to find out the sex which was fun!
