Maternity store question (bra related)
I am rapidly growing out of my bras.
If I go to a place like Motherhood, will they be able to measure me for a new bra? Should I get some new ones now, or should I wait a few months? It's mostly the band around the bottom that's getting tight - the cups are a little fuller as well, but I can live with that.

Re: Maternity store question (bra related)
honestly, what i did was go to the outlets in Woodbury Commons (i'm in NJ though - so those were closest)...and went to the Hanes/Bali/Playtex outlet.
I got like 6 bras for 45 dollars or something insane like that...i got enough of what fits me NOW, what will fit me (larger band size) and one GOD FORBID one....(larger cup AND band).

Re: Maternity store question (bra related)
I just bought nursing bras from Motherhood @ the Source mall, and they were very helpful in sizing me, although she didn't actually measure me. They told me the best time to buy a nursing bra is during the 3rd tri, especially 2 weeks before your due date.
I was also checking out JCPenney..they didn't have a great nursing bra selection, but all this week they were having a bra fitting event. This might be helpful since it sounds like you just need a regular bra for now. HTH.

Re: Maternity store question (bra related)
many maternity stores will measure you. but honestly, i wouldn't spend the money on nursing bras right now. however much your boobs grow now, they will probably grow even more throughout the rest of your pregnancy. and after your milk comes in they will grow to proportions that you never thought possible. so might as well just buy cheaper bigger bras right now, cause these won't be the ones that you'll be in when you're nursing.

I don't know how important a good bra is to you-- but I would go to a specialty store and get measured there to find a great bra that fits your bigger boobs.
When I was on LI visiting my mom-- I went to Mary's in Woodbury and they fit me and found me some great bras.

Re: Maternity store question (bra related)
if it's just the band i'd get a bra extender for now. i've personally have just been buying the cheap bras from target because i've been growing out of them so quickly (went from a large B, small C to a full D and i'm only 19 weeks). i'm planning on buying 2 or 3 nursing bras right before delivery and then investing once i've reached what seems like a steady size after delivery.
