Mattress pad? Mattress cover? Both? Neither?
Okay, so I've had my first crying fit over how bad of a mother I will be. I have a mattress pad (quilted looking thing) and a mattress cover (a sheet that is plasticy) and I don't know which one to use or if I should use both. I'm seriously hysterical over this and the lack of knowledge that I have with everything related to having a baby. I'm totally screwedd. I don't the first thing about how the stroller works, clothing, how many more onesies I need, or anything. I think I'm officially having my first hormonal breakdown.
Can anyone please help me and let me know what to do with the mattress? Something else I read said to put a lap pad over the sheet so that I don't have to change a tight-fitting sheet in the middle of the night. What is a lap pad?

OK don't panic. According to a friend of mine it all goes like this.
Mattress, then mattress cover, then If you ahve one a crib wedge (I got one), then sheet and then sheet saver. lol
I think a mattress pad and cover is kinda like the same thing. Don't worry we learn as we go along dear!
Oh I think a lap pad is the same thing as the "sheet saver" XOXOXO BOTB

My cribs are set up like this: mattress cover (fitted), sheet, mattress pad (waterproof unfitted sheet thing), sheet...I don't know if its "right" but it works well for us in case of accidents, etc.
