Maybe I DO need to live in a bubble after all.
I woke up this morning to a LOVELY fever blister so I cannot kiss DH goodbye in the morning and good night before bed. This is the third fever blister I have had during this pregnancy.
Also, Mom is either going to need to have either and angiogram or stress test in which they inject dye into her and that was one of the two things my OB said I could not be exposed to. The dye is radioactive. So I had to go see Mom TODAY and I may not be able to see her for a day or two afterwards until the radioactivity is out of her system. I couldn't kiss her goodbye either because I would not risk transmitting a virus to her in her fragile state and her immune system is already compromised enough.
Anybody wanna hang out and get snuggly?

I'm keeping your mom in my thoughts and prayers.
On a side note, I can send you some bubble wrap, DH has more than I care to know what he intends to do with it. I think he's holding onto it with the intention of wrapping me in it after my next transfer.

Thanks! Your DH would protect you. As for mine? He's just glad that I am not slobbering all over him and he has the night off.

for your family and Mom. As for fever blisters, I had so many that I lost count, I haven't had one since I entered the 3rd trimester though so there is a ray of hope!
I am sure all this stress isn't helping.

This friggin thing on my face has a pulse.
Mom is kinda struggling with anxiety today. She isn't comfy, but her heart rate is decent. She is hanging in there. I remind her that we have to pick the layette at Denny's on June 1st and she really has been looking forward to that so we'll see what happens.

i truly believe that having something like your little to look forward to will help make her recovery go that much smoother - i really think your mom will be very motivated to get better. make sure she takes it easy and PLEASE don't forget to take it easy yourself!!!

Im trying to. My full day visit yesterday wiped me out. I let my siblings know that I simply cannot do all-day stints. They get it. My brother isn't local and as it is he had to fly in from Europe early from a business trip to see her. My sisters and I are close by, but we all have our "things" that make it difficult for her monitoring to be 24/7. I started getting crampy yesterday, but to be honest, I think it is more due to constipation - TMI sorry.
I sat there tonight very sad. Just 2 rooms down from her, there was a code and a woman may have passed away. I know Mom will eventually go home, but knowing that someone was about to lose a loved one, really hit me. It was hard losing Dad and to see people go through that kind of pain right in front of my eyes was unbearable. I lived it once and don't want to live it again.

My grams had the same last week and I had to stay away too. Makes it much harder to cope when you can't see for yourself what's going on. Hang in there, we are all pulling for her to make a speedy recovery!
AS far as the fever blister is concerned - ouch. Never had one but they seem to look painful. I'll hang out with you

Re: Maybe I DO need to live in a bubble after all.
Sending your Mom lots of prayers and good wishes for her procedure and for a full recovery. I think it was very smart of you to remind her of the plans that you both made for June 1st... She'll need to get herself in shape to keep that appointment!
Sorry to hear about the blister. I've never had one before but I hear they are painful. Hang in there... it'll be gone before you know it!!
