He is such a piece of shit and he is systematically destroying the city.
Penn Station is disgusting now. Every street corner smells of urine. He will have the city back to the way it was in the 70s. Filthy and dangerous.
Asshole

Where do you live? Ive lived in queens for almost 20 years and dont see a difference since he is in office. Maybe contact your local councilmember

But i stopped commuting to manhattan almost 7 years ago so cant comment on streets there

I am ok with his social policies because thats how i tend to lean for where my City tax $ should go (work in non profit health care and have kids in public schools , use libraries etc)

I'm in Rockaway Beach. We got a homeless shelter from him a few years ago, then a "hotel" that was built is also being converted to a homeless shelter. Let the mayor put them next to his brownstone in Park Slope! He wants to close Rikers, and put jails in each borough. I'm not down with that. It's plain crazy. Fix the problems at Rikers, don't make it every borough's problem!

I have seen A TREMENDOUS decline in my neighborhood, since offenses like pot smoking, peeing everywhere, selling bootleg alcohol on the beach, litter, nothing is enforced now. And it's not just here, its in many neighborhoods. Where do you live? Do you think De Blasio is doing a good job and you will vote for him?

Its not just about my neighborhood. NYPD has to go to Europe with him to protect him while he's going overseas to protest against Trump and capitalism, while NYC is in mourning after an NYPD officer was assassinated. Um just no. What business does he have there besides being a douchy commie?

I'm on the Civic association so believe me i'm in close contact with our electeds.

Yes my mistake the G20, where he has no business to be. Unless he just wanted to throw a mask on and get busy with his comrades.

Re: Mayor BigBird off to protest at G8

Although I like his social policies (universal pre k is a wonderful thing) as stinger said I will agree that he should have been in NY during this time of mourning. So we essentially agree.

However, I hate to see the words "commie" and "comrade" thrown around because honestly it's just a blatant inaccuracy - communism has nothing to do with anything here - that confuses people who don't know any better and perpetuates the thought that liberal social policies are somehow equal to communism (not even remotely the case.)

If you hate him that's cool but then call him an asshole, ********, f*cktard, etc. Lots of choices lol.

If you read about his background, it is clearly not an inaccuracy to call him a communist.

I get that people are on board with his social policies. Fine, everyone has their own opinions. But do those same people live next to brand new homeless shelters? Will they be next to the borough prisons he has planned?

Well I know who i'm voting against in this election. I hope for huge voter turn out against him.

I have never read about his background but I am going to now.

I assumed the worst because so many people toss around those words without knowing what they mean.

I am curious lol. I never cared that much because he's not my mayor.

He attended her funeral this morning.

I mean, if he was scheduled to be somewhere for the weekend, I really don't see what the big deal is if he went on with those plans. He was back in time to attend her funeral.

Because people makes assumptions and then run with it. Since he attended the funeral, people have now moved on from that (false) narrative and are instead complaining that "taxpayers paid for his trip to Germany."

What exactly was the point of him going to Germany? The city is in mourning over the assasination of a police officer. That is the priority, to be here. To govern here. Clearly it's fine with some people. It's not fine with me or many others. Plus he was not scheduled to be anywhere, he decided to pick up and leave at the last second.

Um, taxpayers paid for the NYPD detail to go and protect him. Is that false? And ps i haven't moved on from him skipping out on this city while in mourning for an NYPD officer assassinated. I know plenty of others who haven't either.

Mindboggling the people who defend this dirtbag.

I'm not a huge fan of the guy, but I just don't see what the problem is. He was invited before the officer was killed and didn't announce his plans until her funeral had been finalized and it was ensured that he could attend both the protest and her services.

I'm not defending him, since I really don't care much about him but I think the uproar about his trip to Germany is much ado about nothing. In the same vein, I guess you also have a problem with all of Trump's kids receiving secret service details, even when they are on vacation together in Aspen?

I'm not being snarky, but how does the city expect him to mourn the police officer. He attended her funeral, so what else was he supposed to do?
