McCain volunteer attacked in Pittsburgh
This is horrible. I hope this isn't an omen of things to come.
PITTSBURGH -- A 20-year-old woman who was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield was also maimed by her attacker, police said.
Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richard tells Channel 4 Action News that the victim was robbed at knifepoint on Wednesday night outside of a Citizens Bank near Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street just before 9 p.m.
Richard said the robber took $60 from the woman, then became angry when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on the victim's car. The attacker then punched and kicked the victim, before using the knife to scratch the letter "B" into her face, Richard said.
Richard said the woman refused medical treatment after the assault, which happened outside the view of the bank's surveillance cameras.
The robber is described as a dark-skinned black man, 6 feet 4 inches tall, 200 pounds with a medium build, short black hair and brown eyes. The man was wearing dark colored jeans, a black undershirt and black shoes.
The Obama-Biden campaign released a statement, commenting on the attack. The statement said "Our thoughts and prayers are with the young woman for her to make a speedy recovery, and we hope that the person who perpetrated this crime is swiftly apprehended and brought to justice."

the news has been reporting that they are adding tons of extra security on election day and the days to come in places like compton, philly, nyc, etc, and that they are expecting riots to occur no matter who the winner is.
what is wrong w/ people!!!

well, i guess when we think about it, if certain cities "Riot" when their baseball team loses OR WINS (sometimes) it is sad, but somewhat expected at this day in age

I mean we can have different political opinion but this is nuts! I hope they catch that guy.
Although I have known people who talked about doing stuff like that without doing it. Just the thought is insane!!!

Pittsburgh law enforcement sources tell TMZ they have serious questions about the authenticity of the alleged victim who says she had her face cut by a politically-motivated attacker.
We're told there are several things about the alleged attack that don't add up. A Pittsburgh PD official says they are conducting a "thorough investigation" and have not determined if the alleged attack is real or a hoax. But we're told there is definitely a level of skepticism.

There's a very brief blurb on CNN.com that quotes a public information officer saying that the police cannot substantiate the story.

i know...this is crazy! and we are lucky enough to live in a country where we are able to believe what we want and actually have the right to vote. billions around the world would welcome the opportunities we have and people are going to riot? what message does that send to the rest of the world. disgusting....
i hope this above story is not true.... a pic from TMZ is not the most reliable source.

And this is the EXACT reason that I feel that I cannot proudly have my McCain/Palin sticker on my car and DH feels that same way. It is absolutely BS that I should have to hide who I am voting for.
It is a sad sad world that we live in that I feel that I have to sensor my freedom of speech.
ETA...I was thinking about riots in NYC as well. Wouldn't surprise me. I just hope that it doesn't happen.

No kidding! One of my co-workers had her Obama sticker and her Ketner ( a local running for Congress) scratched off her car. Really ridiculous.
