McCain--What Will He Do?
Okay, McCain supporters, tell me, since I am not really hearing it elsewhere, much less from McCain himself.
What is he going to do for us? Sell me--tell me. Besides continue the war in Irag, continuing a policy of not speaking with certain world leaders we do not agree with, and begin offshore drilling. What will he do to make this country better? I've been hearing a lot from his campaign about why Obama is not the best choice, but why is McCain a better choice?
Why has he voted with Bush 90% of the time? How does that show good judgement and the qualifications to be our leader? I would rather have someone in the White House who is new, but shows good judgement and an even temper. That's one thing beyond his voting record that scares me about McCain. He is not good at controlling his temper.
Maybe some of you will just brush me off as another drinker of the Kool Aid. But tell me what makes him the better candidate in your mind.

Re: McCain--What Will He Do?
he has fought for this country- almost gave his LIFE for the country - so wants the best for it -
He works across party lines to reform business in washington
foreign policy experience- he is a skilled negotiator and has many maany established foreign relations- and he is NOt afraid to stand up against other countries-
reduction in taxes (obama wants to raise taxes) McCain says he would make the Bush tax cuts permanent instead of letting them expire, he would eliminate the Alternative Minimum Tax so as to assist the middle-class, he would double the personal exemption for dependents, reduce the corporate tax rate, and offer a new research and development tax credit
a health care system that gives people the right to choose - by working with the insurance compnies- not reliying on the govt -( not a medicaid-type system that obama wants!)
he WANTS to end the war- his son is there! he watns to end it- but end it right. the surge worked- there is progess there. the surge that mccain voted for.

Re: McCain--What Will He Do?
Thanks for the reply.
But who will get these tax breaks? Not people like us from what I understand.
And how will he finance this health plan of his while giving tax breaks? I have heard nothing about that.
And why continue in Iraq? How is staying a great deal longer ending it right? They don't want us there. Why are we continuing to waste human lives and economic resources on a war that was manufactured?
And while he served his country with great bravery, that alone does not qualify him to be president. I do have to admit his senatorial history would though.
Maybe we just need to agree to disagree. Don't worry, no Depends jokes from me, that's just mean spirited IMO>

Thanks for your response Mrs. Pork Chop.
I'm waiting, any others? Granted, I may not be convinced, but I'm curious.

Re: McCain--What Will He Do?
I am probably voting for McCain. Partly for some of the reasons the PP mentioned. He has done some great things and he has also been instrumental in immigration reform. He worked with Ted Kennedy one of the biggest liberals of them all to try and get something off the ground.
Overall though, i feel Obama and McCain will do nothing to change the things that matter most: lower taxes (they are both going to rase them, particularly Obama... you can't do the things he wants without raising taxes), the war is still going to be an issue for several more years regardless of who is in, corporate America is still goign to bleed their workers dry, etc.
So I don't really like either of them BUT I will vote for McCain because he is a MODERATE. I do not want Obama to have the power to put up possibly THREE supreme court justices. For me, the pro-life and pro-family issues are way too important to elect a man that thinks a 6-month old baby is not human and should be allowed to be aborted and who views babies as punishments (he has been quoted saying these things).
McCain will put up more conservative judges.
Please do not flame. i am not in the mood for an argument today.

I don't like either one also but if Obama gets in our taxes are going to be crazy and I don't think its just him I think if any democrat got elected our taxes would be crazy and that scares me. I am not a fan of Mccain either but I will most likely vote for him.
