meal planning before baby arrives
Has anyone been planning their meals and freezing them for when the baby arrives? If so, what meals is everyone making?

Re: meal planning before baby arrives
I intend to make a giant lasagne.... I'll make the sauce ahead of time, and then when the baby arrives, I'll let mom and DH take care of crouton for an hour while I assemble it.
that will feed us for 3+ days

Re: meal planning before baby arrives
My plan is to make a tray of ziti some time this week....just need to get to the store for the cheese. I know a few people will be bringing us food too (b/c they've mentioned it) so I'm not going to go too crazy.

Re: meal planning before baby arrives
I had made a buttload of ziti, lasagna, and sauce before DD was born. Too bad the tomatos in the sauce tore her little hiney UP (I was BFing). This time around, I'll make cassaroles and stuff that aren't tomato based.
So my recommendation is to make other varieties of food in addition to tomato based- JUST in case.

Re: meal planning before baby arrives
I've been cooking and planning to make more, plus my mom has started as well. I think MIL might be cooking for us too!!! So far I have tofu-spinach patties, zucchini casserole, sauce, lasagna, and mac and cheese. I plan to make a taco bake and southwest bake, chili, quiche, a garden lasagna (no sauce). We're vegetarians, so I'm not too sure what else will freeze well.

no, we're not making anything. i don't like frozen meals at all, neither does DH.
we'll count on our families and take out to help us at the beginning. i know it won't be a problem.
