Mean comment about my weight gain!
I am almost 22 weeks pregnant and someone at lunch today asked me how much weight I have gained. I have gained between 14-16 pounds.
She said "Wow that is way too much. What are you eating?"
I felt like crying. My Dr. says I am fine and accroding to the internet I am about 2-3 pounds over.
Why can't people keep their comments to themselves?

And you are NOT gaining too much. By the time I get to 22 weeks I usually have gained 20+ pounds.

It's no ones business how much weight your gained, who the heck are they to say that's too much? I'm 28 weeks and already gained the recommended amount supposed to be gained the entire pregnancy I was on medication before becoming pregnant for years that also made me have no appetite, now that I'm off of it I eat everything in site, I was had really bad m/s and was so tired my first trimester that I really didn't do much but sleep and eat, and now... it seems like I eat 3 lunches because I never get full lol...
that's why I gained my weight, but is it anyone elses business... no.
People are jerks, I mean seriously. Would you EVER go up to a friend who packed on a few pounds (and wasn't pregnant) and mention it? No, so why do it to us, at least we have an excuse, we are making a person, what is yours lol
sorry it's long, I just really angry for you all of a sudden!

 dont even give exact numbers. i was up 20 lbs by 20 weeks.
people are a-holes.
would you ask them how much they gained normally?

I was already over 25 pounds at that point in my pregnancy.
I NEVER told co workers, aunts, neighbors, even at my baby shower- I never told my weight gain.
Everyone will play doctor with you and tell you what you should or should not do. I didn't want to hear it. You know yourself the best, IGNORE these people. Concentrate on a healty pregnancy.
To be honest, in my experience, the gilrs that gained the most weight, ex 56 lbs, 50 lbs, HONESTLY lost all of it after the pregnancy anyway.

People are rude and being pregnant is is hard not to be sensitive. If it makes you feel any better, I gained 60 lbs....which was way too much.

I never tell people how much I've gained.
I tell them I never weighed myself BEFORE my pregnancy... so I never would know.
Trust me, this works well. First, they think that you don't care about weight (which makes them jealous), second: they can't comment too much or too little.

My doctor puts it this way whenever I ask about my weight b/c I felt I gained too much too quickly too...
"You're more than 1/2 way through and in order to gain the recommended 35 pounts, you should be 1/2 of that amount by 20 weeks."
So you sound lke you're right on track! I can't stand how people pass judgement... Brush it off; I'm right there with you with the amount you've gained!!

some people have no filter.. esp people we work with - they see you everyday... i found them (love them normally) to be the most upfront and rude about my appearance...and some were awesome about it

i have the oppsite problem. im a tiny person to bring with and i only gained 22lbs so far and im 7.5 months. the dr said its fine bc i have a tiny frame. but my wgt and baby's wgt are good for me. but i have people telling me i should eat more im straving my child. oh better one that my baby will be just skin an bones when it come out bc i didnt gain enough wgt. i eat like a sob i cant help that i dont gain wgt.
