Meat Grinder?
I'm interested in buying a stand-alone meat grinder. I would like some suggestions if you have one. Also, which is better: manual or electric?
TIA!

Re: Meat Grinder?
My mom had an old one that eventually broke - electric. We only use it 1x a year to make chop liver (not very tough). We got a cheapo manual one and it is harder to use but once we learned small batches it was much better.
I guess, it depends on your usage.

Re: Meat Grinder?
I have a Waring. I don't know the model though? I'll be honest in that I love grinding my own meats.. it's cheaper and I like knowing what's in my ground beef - but it's also a pain in the ass to clean so I suggest doing A TON of stuff in a big batch and freezing instead of doing it as needed.
My father had a hand grinder when we were growing up. THAT was a real pain in the butt because he'd have to clamp it to the counter and cut the meat especially small to make it easier to grind. But he swore by it and refused to consider an electric grinder.

I don't know if they sell it in the US, but it's a German brand- Bomann.
