Meds to dry up your milk.

Anyone on here not BF or stop BF and had to get a prescription from the doc to dry up your milk?

I have been BF for 28mths!!! and dd is showing no signs of stopping. I had a gyn visit a few weeks back and he advised me to get a prescription from him to dry up my milk as I am going to ttc #2 any month now.

I am the type of person who never takes any type of medication - you would be hard pressed to find any type of meds in our house except for emergency stuff for dd which I normally end up throwing out unused at the end of its expiration. But I dont think I have any choice other than this method. I have tried to wean dd several times over the past year but she is very persistent and will not give up the boobies.

Just looking for any feedback from any of you moms on this.

TIA

No, I did not. I never BF, and it didn't take so long for the milk to dry up. I was engorged for 2 days, maybe 3, then everything kept going down after that. I was told not to let shower water (especially warm) hit my breasts during this time since that can encourage lactation.

I wore ice packs in a big jogging bra and bras 24/7 for about a week. The pain wasn't bad except for one day, the rest was manageable I thought.
