Meeting with RE today
Instead of having our first sonogram today, we met with the RE (actually a different doctor, but with the same practice) today to start regrouping and figuring out what comes next. He recommended some changes to my protocol, but said that he wouldn't expect me to get more eggs than what I had with this past cycle (they retrieved 8, 5 were mature, 4 fertilized and only 1 made it to transplant). He said we're not at the point yet that he would say there's no hope without donor eggs, so I guess that's something.
Instead of regular BCP, he wants me to go on Augestin for 6 weeks before our next attempt since I have a history of severe endo. I won't be on Lupron this time, since I didn't have a huge response to the stims before. Instead, I'd be on letrozole. I'll also have to do an androgen patch.
The stims would probably be the same as last time (2 vials of Menopur and 450 i.u. of gonal f per day). Also, because of the endo, he suggested that I take prednisone, since that might help with inflammation. I'd also go on growth hormone.
We're going to wait a little bit before we get started, though. I don't think either one of us is in the place emotionally to jump right into it.
In the meantime, he suggested I keep up with the DHEA and CoQ10.

Meeting with RE today
Happy you have a new plan. Have faith. Take all the time you need to regroup. I know it helped me taking a break in between Ivfs.

That WTF appointment is a killer huh?
Take the time to regroup. Feel good. Hopefully the weather gets nicer so you can get outside and enjoy life for a little bit. A healthy mind helps with a healthy body!
Do you have the Circle & Bloom IVF Meditation CDs? If not, I have a copy I can give you. It helped me mentally before and during my IVF stims.

Yes! I used this too during my second Ivf. I listened to it every day and when I was getting my acupuncture. Def give it a try...

It really was a killer. I only burst into random tears once, though, so I take that as a success.
I'm not familiar with the CDs, but if it might help, I'm game!
