Thanks for sharing your story! I absolutely want to go au natural, & your experience gives me some confidence that I can do it. How long did you labor for, all together? What hospital were you in?
Congrats on your beautiful, healthy baby girl. She is absolutely adorable, & I'm happy that you have healed well.

Thanks!
Labor started around 6:30 pm on Wednesday night and she was born just before 1 am -- so about 6 1/2 hours total from when I noticed the contractions to when she was here. I had been having back pain before I felt the contractions at regular intervals, so I may have been in labor a bit longer, but I started to really noticed the contractions and started losing pieces of my mucus plug in chunks at 6:30 pm.
I went to the hospital at 9:30 pm, so I did labor at home for a few hours (and showered and did my hair lol) before I left for the hospital. So from the time I got to the hospital to when she was born was a little over 3 hours. I feel SO lucky it was so fast!
I live in North Carolina now so I was in a hospital down here, right outside of Raleigh. You can FM me if you want to know exactly where, but unfortunately it won't help if you're in NY, sorry. I used to candystripe at North Shore Manhasset in the maternity unit for years and always imagined being there. It was strange being pregnant and giving birth somewhere I didn't "know", but everyone was so wonderful.
Megan is 14 weeks this week and I feel great. I started back at the gym two weeks ago and am pretty much back to my old routine. She has her first cold now (probably got it from the kids in the child care at the gym... I feel bad) but she's a trooper and smiles constantly!
If you have any specific questions, feel free to FM me! Good luck to you & congratulations again!

Thank you so much! She was 5 months yesterday and is incredible.
I sometimes read over my birth story just because I still can hardly believe how it all happened. It still makes me very, very happy.
