Met with my new OB today....
I was so nervous for it to b/c I had never gone to a male before.....Dr. Scanlon was awesome and made me feel SO comfortable....actually sat down and talked with me about TTC (which sadly Dr. Stampf had never done with me so it was kinda nice to have that time) He asked me first what I knew and said I was right on target and that he's glad I've looked into....I said..."i'm on a forum with a bunch of women who are TTC, it's beyond helpful" (so thanks for helping me sound smart ladies  )
On a side note: He said try not to use OPKs for the first few months and get in tune with your body first, he said most women tend to not do that but it's good to get to know yourself. He talked about the mucus and how once it hits the "white" stage that you have passed ovulation...& to always look for the clear, stretchy mucus, that's the day you are Oing.
Overall he said I look good and hopes to see me soon!! He said since this is our first month ttc to not go nuts and assured me that it will happen whether it be this month or 6 months from now. He said to not test until missed period, he said you may have sore breasts or a weird taste in my mouth but to try to hold out on testing because I may make myself feel those things. (he's sooooooooooo right)

That's great news! I have always gone to a male ob/gyn... I always felt like they were more gentle and sensitive - maybe because they don't have those parts and don't know what it feels like!
As far as the CM thing though... I've gotten EWCM as early as 5 days before O - so I wouldn't trust that you ovulate on the day you get that type of CM. Just FYI!

oh yes, I said that to him too, I said but if I'm only using my calendar I should BD (i didn't say BD lol) about 3-4 days prior. He said yes but once you hit that "white" stage you are infertile & have passed your Oing.
I think DH & I BD'd every other day this month right after AF ended b/c well....we just did to be safe! lol (plus we were in Rome & Florence...it was to romantic not too!)

I've always gone to male OBGYNs and in my few experiences with women docs I feel actually like the men better! Glad to hear he took the time to talk to you and that you really like him!! Hopefully you'll be seeing him sooner rather than later

Wow, what a great visit! That is awesome! I never thought I would, but after trying both I definately prefer male gyno's.
On a side note, I have been trying not to convince myself I am PG, but I have had a bad taste for a few days now (never even thought of that as a symptom) and my boobs are killing me, but I know that can just be aunt flow. She is due Friday so no testing til then. Sorry to go off on a tangent.

Sounds like a great OB! So glad it went well for you Devon!
I was weird about going to a male doc too, then finally went to one....it's really no big deal once you get down to it.
YEEAA good luck!! Did your sis conceive your nephew pretty easily? How about your mom? That's a good gauge at how fertile you may be.

Sounds like a great Dr! I completely agree with him about waiting to test until AF is late. I never understood early testing...but that's just me.
