Metformin ladies...

I'm on provera now to bring on my period...but I forgot when the Dr. said I should start the Metformin (if I decide to take it, he left it up to me when I left his office)? Chat Icon I'm on day 8 of the provera...still no AF. I can call him tomorrow but I figured I'd ask here to find out asapChat Icon
TIA!

Re: Metformin ladies...

I think you can start right away. I've taken provera & metformin at the same time.

Re: Metformin ladies...

Start it now. You take metformin every day, its not like provera or clomid that is only taken for a certain number of days.

Start off with one pill a day and then increase your dosage slowly.

ITA- when I started Metformin they had me take 1 pill a day for the first 2 weeks... then added a 2nd pill. It may bother your stomach in the beginning, but it may not. Also depends what types of foods you're eating... a lot of white breads/pasta/rice--- and you might be making a few extra trips to the bathroom Chat Icon (sorry if TMI). GL!

Re: Metformin ladies...

ITA -- there's no connection between when you take met and your cycle.

That said, if you can wait until AF appears and then start the met, at least you'll only have one set of side effects at a time.

Re: Metformin ladies...

I started taking the Met about 2 weeks before I started the Provera.
