metformin questions
So I have been on Metformin for 2 &1/2 weeks
Week 1 - 1pill a day Week 2- 2 pills a day Week 3 3 pills a day ( that's where I will stay at
My questions is, does it increase your luteal phase or do something to when you ovulate? I usually ovuate around day 15. I am on CD17 and I may have noticed some EWCM today but an old OPK I had was was negative
I am supposed to bd this month and when AF comes go back to RE to start Follistim and Lovenox for my1st round of IUI.
Do you think my ovulation is delayed or I may have missed it because if the Metformnin? I am SO going to go back to charting temps.
Any feedback or experience is appreciated.
Thanks everyone

Re: metformin questions
Well, I'm actually on 4 pills a day of Metformin.
I think it's supposed to make your ovulation regular -- something about the insulin in your body changes the way you ovulate and Metformin corrects it. So I'm not sure if Metformin would really delay your ovulation. I've been on it for 3 months, hasn't done that to me.
Good luck!

Re: metformin questions
Hi there,
I don't think that metformin lengthens your LP. Sometimes it takes a couple of months for the metformin to regulate your ovulation. Do you have PCOS? Maybe your RE can schedule you in soon to see if there are any follicules growing.

Hi Ladies, thanks for the responses. I donot have PCOS- I know what my RE wants the medicine combined witht he injections that I am going to start soon will do, just mixed up on what exactly the Metformin does alone.
Also, this was our month to try natural and I wonder if I missed the boat or if my bd on cd17 & cd18 could make a difference.
thanks for the feedback, I am going to go to the RE as soon as AF shows or does not
Good luck to both of you too
