Re: Mets player criticized for attending the birth of his child
Yes, let's schedule major surgery so he doesn't miss a game. I can't believe they think that's ok. It's the birth of his first child. I'm glad the mets stand behind him. Boomer and Francesca can suck it. Find something else to talk about, revelant to sports

Mets player criticized for attending the birth of his child
My question is would he have been so criticized if he had been attending his mother's funeral? The answer is no. I don't see why attending the birth of his child so controversial. It's a life changing event.
Mike Francesa is a total a$$hat and generally says stuff to ruffle feathers. Boomer I have no explanation for. But I hope his wife slapped him when he got home.

Mets player criticized for attending the birth of his child
I think his big criticism was that he missed two games and not just the one while she was in labor. He said a wife in the hospital doesn't need her husband there. Yeah, because when you just went through child birth and are so sore you can barely walk and got no sleep because your hours old baby was either on your boob or screaming all night, you really don't need your husband.

Good for him for taking paternity leave and being with his family during this special time. And Kudos to the Mets for supporting him. Boomer's comments were disgusting. He missed TWO GAMES! Aren't there like 180 games in a season or something? And it's the beginning of the season! It's not like they were crucial games or anything.
ITA!
The mets suck so bad anyways missing 2 games means nothing lol

Ignorance, that's all it is on their part. They know no better. They are both assholes. Besides, this is controversy that they want for ratings.
Last year, Murphy played 161 out of 162 games. I think taking 2 days off was perfectly acceptable.

Re: Mets player criticized for attending the birth of his child
This is yet another example of "if a man had to do it, we wouldn't even be having this discussion".
If he was hurt during the season, he's miss more than 2 games, but that would be OK, right? That's an "acceptable" reason? Being present for the birth of your child and the days surrounding it are once in a lifetime experiences that you will never have again. I can't understand why anyone would begrudge a parent the opportunity to be there.
I'm glad the Mets are backing him up.

un-***** believable! Yeah just let them put her & the baby in unnecessary danger by scheduling a C-Section so he can be back at work It's not a dental cleaning FFS!!
I'm really shocked at Boomer since he lives & breathes for his son
And yes, because he is SAVING lives in his job as a professional ball player. Saving the world! He plays a fuking GAME for a living. A game. In the scheme of life, what does it mean? Jesus. The values in this country are truly disturbing and mind blowing.

They both did. I love the part that says folks from the March of Dimes re-educated Carton. Ripped him a new asshole, maybe?

PROFESSIONAL SPORTS: The national distraction.
This is just disgusting. Shame on them all. If I was their wife or children I would be embarrassed to have them as a father.
