Mexican food spinoff/Where should I have birthday dinner?
Going to dinner Monday night and I REALLLLLLY want Mexican food.
I am dying for enchiladas!!!
I'm working with some time constraints, so I need to stay close to home. I've never been to La Panchita (Smithtown), but my sister says its great.
Has anyone eaten there? Do you know if its open on Monday? (They're closed for the night already, so I can't call them.) Is it goooood?
THANKS!

It's good, but the inside is small. Call and make reservations if you have a big party.
:)
There is also Bestio Mex in Huntington Village. This place is fantastic! The make the guacamole at the table to your taste! By far my favorite!

I don't know where you are but Maria's in Nesconset is also really great! If you have a party of 5 or more you can make reservations (it tends to get busy though I don't know how it would be on a monday night)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

La Panchita has great food and yummy sagria, but is not overly fancy. We go there alot becuase they never have a problem with us bringing Jenna, unlike Maria's in Nesconset
The staff is also very friendly
Have a wonderful birthday and enjoy your dinner

I agree completely. I would make the trip and go to Bestio.

Re: Mexican food spinoff/Where should I have birthday dinner?
thanks so much - I'm looking for casual mexican because Rich doesn't really like it....he's sacrificing for ME!
I've been to Besito and while its excellent, its not for Rich....and its just the 2 of us tonight!
I'll call La Panchita today - I hope they're open! Thanks again

Happy Birthday!
Viva Juans in Centerport - or Pancho Villas in Huntington!
Besito is really good to - that's in Huntington - it's a little different kind of mexican place - but still good. Here is their website with menu
Besito
