Re: Milk running low!
The consultant I saw said to take this herb fenugreek, mothers milk tea and to pump several times per day in order to stimulate greater production.

Pretty much any health food store. I know I've seen fenugreek at GMC and Vitamin Shoppe.

Pumping is NOT an adequate way to determine supply.... You need to go by babies output... how many wet and poopy diapers.
I was a really good pumper in the begining and then after a few weeks could barely pump anything... But my supply is fine

I have NEVER been a good pumper, but my supply is fine too. I am feeding TWO babies and the most I ever get during a pumping session is 4-5 oz, and that is after 5-6 hours!

Re: Milk running low!
Thanks Ladies I feel better! I can barely get anything out of my pump so i thought maybe my 2 week old was not getting anything. Went to the Dr today and he said she was gaining fine
I will try to look for those pills/tea
i asked about increasing milk supply on a mother's forum i am on overseas and a few suggested red wine (!!!!!) one was even a midwife. of course they meant a few sips not a bottle but still find it shocking
Glad we are helping each other with BF! wish you all were around with my first!

Re: Milk running low!
I used fennel tea (add honey, it's not very tasty).
Also you may need to eat & drink more to produce more. Don't underestimate the amount of calories you're losing when you nurse.

ITA. DD usually takes 8 oz. bottles every 3 hours, yet when I pump at the end of the night (4-5 hours after she's last fed), I can usually only get about 5 oz. now.
