Re: mini-vacay to dutch wonderland AND hershey park.....

I was going to post this very question. My thought was to first drive to DW and when DS was ready for a nap, go to hotel to check in, eat some prepacked lunch and when he woke up depending on mood, either go back to DW or stay at hotel (Eden) and sprinklers. Then next day go to Hershey 30 min from Eden. Then third day would be a play it by ear day (depending on which park DS liked better). We plan on hitting Please Touch Museum on our way home.

I'd be interested if this sounds like a good plan or if anyone has better ideas/tips.

this sounds like a good plan.....only thing is don't think we can stay at Eden $$wise.....it looks great but I think we might have to stay somewhere else.....if hershey is 30mins from Eden how far is that away from DW??? like 45mins???

Yes hershey is about 30 min from Eden and DW is 10 min from Eden.

Re: mini-vacay to dutch wonderland AND hershey park.....

We are going in June and plan to do both parks with our then 2.5 yr old DS.

When picking a hotel, type the address/name into google maps and then map the distance to both DW and Herhsey, this way you know how doable your plan is.

We are staying at Eden for 4 nights and this is our itinerary:

Day 1: arrive, hang out at hotel/sprinkler area or maybe go to DW before closing (in case of rain, a museum)

Day 2: Dutch Wonderland

Day 3: Day out with Thomas, Choo Choo Barn train exhibit, train stores, etc

Day 4: Hershey

Day 5: leave to come home, nothing planned.

If we didn't have Thomas we probably wouldn't stay the extra night so I definitely think the 3 nights is doable for both parks. I mapped different activites/places just to know if it was realistic to try to visit the places from where we going to be.

Re: mini-vacay to dutch wonderland AND hershey park.....

We just booked 3 nights at Eden and was hoping to do Hershey and Dutch wonderland. My plan is to go straight to Hershey on Sunday, Amish country/railroad/shops on Monday, Dutch on Tuesday and hotel on Wednesday until we check out. Hopefully it works out.

Re: mini-vacay to dutch wonderland AND hershey park.....

3 nights and 4 days? You can easily do this.

They are about 25-30 mins from each other.

Hershey can be done in a day but a day and a half is best if you want to do it all IMO and take your time (they have alot of kiddie rides!). Dutch Wonderland no more than one day.

I don't know your budget. I suggest Best Western Eden resorts closer to DW. You will get a LOT for your $$$ there.
