Minivan: Honda or toyota?

My DH and I are in the process of looking for a minivan. We have a 9.5 month old son and another DC on the way. We are kind of leaning towards the Honda Odyssey, but I am not 100% sure. We are still thinking about the Toyota Sienna.

So I was wondering if anyone has either one of the cars, what has been your experience?

I was torn between the two as well. The ride is quieter in the Toyota but the amount you get (or I got in March) was better with the Honda. For a minivan, I couldn't be happier with the Honda.

ETA: I have the older 2 in the back and Lukie in the middle. There is PLENTY of space!

I've got the Sienna because I wanted 4 wheel drive and have been very happy. Be prepared for big gas bills though!

My sister has the Odyssey & loves it. So does a friend of mine who test drove the Toyota too and she said the Odyssey was peppier. We're going to look at both since we plan on purchasing one really soon.

Love my honda.

I was in a bad car accident in Feb and it really did a great job protecting me.

Even if my kids were in the car, I am confident they would have been safe.

We had them both in the middle row next to each other. We left room on one side for people to slide in the back.

I have had 3 adults in the back row pretty comfortably too.

We test drove both and preferred the Odyssey. I had a Toyota Corolla for 10 years and a Camry for 4 years before that so I was really humoring DH by testing the Odyssey.

We have the 2 kids in the middle row with the opening between them for people to get into the back. No problems.

Question for the Honda owners:

I have a honda too and right now have ds and dd on both ends. For those of you who put DC next to each other do you have them on the middle removalable seat?

We have a Sienna but we also looked at the Odyssey. Honestly anyone I know who has either is very happy with it. My SIL has the Odyssey. We wanted the 8 seater and the seat in the middle of the second row was bigger with the Sienna. My current set up, unless we need to drive more people, is my 2 older kids in the back row with the middle seat empty and my 2 year old behind the driver side. We removed the seat behind the passenger seat so they can get in and out really easy.

Love HONDA. Granparents have one and our Older DD loves to drive in it.

We test drove both and went with the Honda. DH wanted the Toyota b/c it did drive quieter, but I loved all the bells and whistles of the Honda - the package we have included standard leather, rear view back up camera and a few other cool features and it was less expensive than the toyota! We are very happy with it.

The girls are both in the 2nd row, with the middle section removed for someone to get into the 3rd row when needed.

Have the 2005 Odyssey. It was a fight I lost...I am not a mini-van type. I do find that it has some blind spots in the front windshield and that it is not fantastic in the snow. I would opt for any 4 wheel drive mini-van/suv next time.

Thanks for all your responses. I really appreciate it. I have a pretty good offer from a Honda dealer and now I am waiting for an offer from a Toyota dealer. This whole thing is just so confusing.

I test drove all of the Mini Vans.

I liked the way the Sienna handled better plus we got a better deal there

Both are the best in Mini Vans so either way you are getting a great Van

i like the honda better, we rented a sienna in FL and it was ok, but i like the honda's better

Do you have two car seats in the row behind the drivers seat? If so do you feel like there is enough room for your DC. Are they comfortable?

LOVE my Sienna... I looked at the Odyssey too, I just liked the way the Sienna rode and the way it looked more
