Mix & match wood colors in bedroom?
Does anyone have two different wood stains in their bedroom?
I am thinking of doing a mahogany headboard w/ my natural dressers/end tables?
Will this look busted?

Re: Mix & match wood colors in bedroom?
Hmm, well the wood floor in my bedroom is light and my furniture is extra dark walnut and it looks great. In the kitchen, the cabinets are lighter wood and the center island is dark....(it was there already when we moved in.) I think for it to work on actual furniture spaced close together, you would have to see a picture of it to really see if it works. I think the pieces would have to be from the same or near-identical family/set.

It really depends on YOUR personal taste. I personally don't like things that are too matchy matchy ..........within reason, there are certain things that obviously look out of place together, but as long as the overall style is similar, the different wood stains is fine -

Re: Mix & match wood colors in bedroom?
My floor is light wood, so is my desk and my file cabinet. But my bed is dark brown as will be side tables/dressers when we get them.
I personally like it because I fell like the light wood is casual and the dark wood is formal and they balance each other out.
Not to mention, if your floor was the same as your furniture, it would probably look very monotone.
