mmm congestion. What's your favorite remedy?
Specifically head and EARS....when you're in pain, what's the first thing you grab for?
(which meds, etc)

jumping jacks.
exercise helps to flush it all out. (i'll take dayquil/nyquil if its THAT bad... but they dont do much for me). steam, jumping jacks, orange juice, gargling with salt water--- those help more than anything.

ok, i tried jumping - no, really i did- and all it did was make me dizzy 
I'm having severe ear issues - they're so congested, they're clicking and popping and making me dizzy 
My doctor "can't see me til Tuesday" and told me to go to the ER if I couldn't deal with it.  'Cause THAT'S necessary. I need a new Dr.

I've had an ear infection before, so i know what that feels like....this pain definitely isn't ear infection pain, more of a throbbing as opposed to a sharpness...

i've been having the same issues with my ears... they always feel clogged! 
i let peroxide sit, and then drain it... but even that hasnt really been helping.
oh.. and if you do the jumping jacks thing again- make sure you drink a ton of water (though, you should do that anyway).... thats what always helps me to get all the crap out

I bought some drops at CVS - generic for Similisan Ear Ache Relief drops - I haven't had the guts to use them yet. They look kinda....er....viscous...

sometimes i wonder if i'm the only one that HATES nyquil!
First of all, I never know if its going to put me to sleep, or have me hopping all night. Sometimes it makes me hyper.
Second, when it DOES make me sleep, I'm in a daze for at least 1/2 of the next day. I just can't snap out of that drug fog!

Nic, Go to a walk in clinic and pay the $50 for the vist. At least you could get a script.

Advil Cold & Sinus. works wonders for me!
ETA: if I have a BAD cold, I always take NyQuil before bed. all hail NyQuil! (and take the liquid form, it is much more potent than the pills)

Sorry you're not feeling well! 
Honestly, I don't do over the counter for any sickness. When I get sick, I get really sick, and nothing helps except strong antibiotics, asthma inhalers, and steroid inhalers.
If my doc tells me to wait, I just keep calling around till I find someone who can take me. I have no qualms about seeing someone I've never seen before, to get what I need.
I have a pretty good doc down the block from my office. No-nonsense, gets me the script, and gets me out of there. Plus there's a pharmacy right next door.
If you're anywhere near Plainview, let me know and I'll give you his info.

I have had the same problem for the past two days. I have been taking Sudafed Cold and Cough and that has done the trick. Of course, I have a cold and cough as well, so I wouldn't take it if you don't have those symptoms.
