MMR reaction- cranky and clingy? UPDATED now rash popped up

DD had her MMR 12 days ago. She got a fever at day 10 and also happened to have a cold. The fever seemed to last only Sunday and Monday but she's been super cranky and clingy. Even daycare mentioned that she wasn't her normal, easy self and wanted to be held a lot (not that she's normally "easy" at home but she hasn't given them a problem before). For the past twoish weeks she's also started waking in the middle of the night and crying until we rock her back to sleep, which she hasn't done in close to a year. I should also add that we gave the MMR a week after DD started daycare, but she had been loving it so I don't think her mood has anything to do with that.

Did anyone else experience this? How long did the cranky/clingyness last? My doctor's office didn't give me any info regarding the vaccine so aside from calling about the temp, I'm going by google. Chat Icon

update- Just changed DD's diaper and now she has the rash. I have a call out to the dr, awaiting a call back.

MMR reaction- cranky and clingy?

they have you nothing? Mine hands out a flier that looks pretty generic. They may get a fever, they may be irratable, etc.

I think the CDC has a PDF version online.

AJ reacted very badly to the first MMR. It was the single most important reason I started to split up the shots.

I'd give it a 14days from the shot then look at other things. Teething, ear infections (AJ didnt get fevers with ear infections), a cold, etc.

No, they literally gave me nothing! *I* had to follow the nurse down the hall and ask "So, I hear there can be a reaction in 7 to 10 days? Is she at all contagious?". I got very generic responses. I'm sorta thinking about changing doctors after this experience. I have never been given any type of written literature on any vaccines. Chat Icon

same thing happened with my DD. 10 days after got a fever and just "off" for about 4 or 5 days. Super cranky and wanted to be held. How old is your DD? We delayed the shot until my DD was a little over 2 (so she can talk) and she also complained that her knees and legs hurt. One side effect is joint pain. I think she just felt achy all over.

It happened to my dd. she never had a fever but was acting sick and then, boom, on day 10 her rash started. First on her butt, then legs, then arms. Didn't fit Internet but took her t doc and he said his son had the same reaction.

DD is 22mo. I pushed it off as long as I could but finally broke down and gave it becuase she started daycare and #2 is due very soon. I figured she should have it. She can talk but isn't great at communicating. I wouldn't be surprised if she has body aches. I wouldn't say she's lethargic at all but she's just not herself, cranky, wants to be held a lot, etc. Still waiting on the dr's office to call back.
