MMR shots?
Can someone help clear this up for me? How often do you need to get this shot? For some reason I thought that these shots lasted a while.

Re: MMR shots?
It should be a one time shot.
However, DH wasn't sure if he had it or not, but his mom swore he did. But since she couldn't find his medical records he was tested to see it showed up in his blood work and it didn't. Which surprised me since it's needed to attend school. So he had to go for the shot last month.

Re: MMR shots?
i've had one twice - once before starting shool and once when there was an outbreak of measles in my elementry school
the vacine does not work for life on everyone who gets it - more and more people are getting it twice - i think it is recommended before starting school and college now

Re: MMR shots?
See, I got it once when I was younger and then again when I started college (10 years ago). I am doing a placement in a hospital and they said I needed another one

Re: MMR shots?
It might be a one time shot for most people, but I have gotten 2 boosters. The first was when I started teaching and I didn't have proof of my original shot, so I had to get a booster.
The second time was when I went back to college for a second time. They made me get another booster since it had been about 10 years since I had the first booster. I think if you are working with kids or in a medical profession, you might have to get it again.

Re: MMR shots?
this says you should have 1 or 2 doses between 19-49, and then 1 dose after 50
