MOB dress **UPDATED W/PIC****
My daughter will be getting married in Oct on a Sunday afternoon at Queens County Farm.
If you ladies could throw out some ideas on a dress for me I would love the help. Thanks!
*****9/6/07---Updated...finally found a dress. My daughter had only 1 request. She asked that it not be black! Found this at Macys last night. It's a deep purple..almost an eggplant color. DH actually picked it out

There is Meika in Woodbury and Metamorphisis in St James... both were great for my mom when she bought her MOB dress... she wound up getting hers at Meika though

What color are you looking for? Gown or cocktail length? I got married in October and my mom did gold. I think she actually got it at Estelle's.

I was thinking of a cocktail length but wasn't sure if it would be appropriate.
As for color...not sure. Her MOH is wearing brown and she is wearing Ivory.

I'm not too familar with the venue. My SIL got married in Nantucket and the venue was more casual so MIL wore a cocktail length dress. But as the MOB, I would lean toward the gown.

you couild always see how much it would cost to get that dress made. i know a lot of brides who did that bc they fell in love with dresses outside their price range
my mom found her dress at bridal suite - but ordered it through phyllis at gownfind. it was about $150 less than retail cost.

I think for a sunday afternoon outdoors cocktail length would be totally appropriate and very modern.
I would check out all the major Deparment stores.

HMMMM...and it does come in my size.
ETA: The only thing I'm concerned about is the "mint" green color. I think it may be to light for October.

i have never ordered from bluefly - but if they have a good return policy - i say order it and see if you like it! you can always return and keep searching if you don't!
