Please know that more than not, this is curable.
Ductal is better since it's contained.
Did they come up with a plan yet?

Thinking good thoughts for you and your mom. Remember to take care of yourself so you can be there for her - you'll be pleasantly surprised by how the people in your life will be eager to help, and will let you lean on them when you need to.

thank you. trying to stay calm but very difficult. i can't even discuss with my friends, too hard to talk about

I'm so sorry you're going through this. My mom is a survivor, and I know it's a very scary, emotional thing to go through. Stay strong, but also take care of yourself. Let others be there for you, while you are there for your mom.

My mother was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ in 2001 in her left breast. She had radiation and took tamoxofin.
3 years later, in 2004 she was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ in her right breast. She had radiation and took a different medication.
This morning she had her last appointment with her oncologist until next year. She has been going every 3 months since 2001. She took her last cancer med this morning.
She's fine!! She's better than fine!!
The day I got the phone call about my moms diagnosis in 2001 was possibly the worst day of my life. It changed everything forever. But not just for the bad...I watched my mother fight harder than she ever had before. Her battle with cancer showed me what a strong woman she is. She is honestly my hero.
If you're going to get breast cancer, this is the one to get.
