Mom to be needs advice: sleep positioner Yay or NAY

This is one item i havent gotten and i have heard so many mixed reviews that i dont know what to do. We plan on putting DS in crib right away (if i can bring myself to part from him) and i intend to swaddle him. If you do suggest a sleep positioner can you post pic or type. Thanks.

We got one and used it mainly because DD had stomach issues and we didn't want her to lie flat.

Never used it. The idea of having a pillow like item in the crib scared me. I swaddled without it and had no problems.

we have and use the one pictured. It's great and helped DS with colic issues.

I had one for DD but she wiggled her way down all the time so that her face was right next to the positioners.... Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Mom to be needs advice: sleep positioner Yay or NAY

We used one for a bit. Was great when we were swaddling and would have DS sleep on his side. I was a nervous nelly about "flat head".

We had one similar to the one posted above. The sides were velcro which was great for a growing baby since it made it adjustable.

Could I have lived without it. Absolutely. Because once we stopped swaddling DS would just squirm out of it.

nope, I was afraid he'd slide down and his head would end up near the positioner sides...

also, I'm not sure if it would work well with our motion sensor....

we swaddled the first month or 2 until he wanted his arms free... then we transitioned into sleep sacks....

Nay, they should only be used to address a medical need.

Its called Especially for Baby Inclinded to Sleep Infant Positioner

Honestly yes.. she wiggled down on the ones I have. Like once or twice... I tried to narrow the cushions (they are movable) but she found a way. I was scared when she was younger that she'd get her face caught in one of the pillows but honestly that never happened, her shoulders prevented her from turning if during those rare occasions she wiggled that far.

I just rolled up a blankie and put it under her knees.. she never wiggled down again... EVER, not once.

The only time she wiggled down was when she was over 2months.. but when she was 'itty bitty' it never happened. I did swaddle her for a little while but she hated it.. it lasted like 3weeks. Still i swaddled AND put her into the positioner.

HTH

I used the Inclined to Sleep for both of my DC. I liked that it inclined them after a bottle so they weren't flat on their backs. I did stop using it around 3 months or so when they were able to side their way down it.

I have the one pictured as well and DD sleeps great with it. She's got some tummy issues as well and i think it helps with that... but really, she's sleeping from 9p-7a without so much as a peep!
