Mommies of 2+ year olds.... are you using bed rails, toddler bed already?

DS will be 2 and I don't think he is ready yet. His crib become a daybed so I would only need the rails for the 1 side. Yet, I am just worried he going to fall or get up at 5:30am wandering in the house.

Did you take DC out of the crib yet?

I thought I would have done it by now but DS moves too much still.

We already have a crib tent.

DS is still in his crib i recently posted how he fell out

but we chose to still have him in it as he loves his crib and he has jestured how he wont do it again ...rubs his head and says no more

DD will be 3 in 2 weeks and she is still in her crib. I havent taken her out yet bc Im afraid she"ll wander around the house early mornings or her sleep will be affected.
I plan on converting her crib to the daybed soon though.

Christopher turned 2 last month and he is still in his crib and I don't see him coming out of it anytime soon. He likes his crib and we aren't in a hurry, so, since it ain't broke...

DD's 2.5 and is still in her crib. We're keeping her in there as long as possible. But we do already have her next bed: a full sized bed. I'm guessing we'll move her into that sometime after she turns 3.

DD will be 3 in July and we just took her out of her crib last week and put her in a twin bed with a side rail. She's been great with the transition where she doesn't get out of bed until she wakes up in the morning and even then she sometimes waits for us to come and get her. (I have a feeling things won't be so easy when it comes time for my DS. ) Once she gets used to sleeping in a bed, we're going to buy a queen size. We just couldn't fit both a crib and queen size bed in her room at the same time.


ETA: the reason why we ended up putting her in a bed was because she's getting too big to lift over the rail. I didn't want my parents or ILs having to lift her that high anymore. She also had an "accident" on her floor which required me to have my DH move the crib and that just kind of motivated us to remove the crib from the room all together. (The poor kid probably thought we were taking her crib away for peeing on the floor. )

I think Lily is ready for a toddler bed, and could handle the transition.....she pretends she's going to bed every night on the couch by resting her head on the pillow, pulling the blanket up to her chin, saying "Night Night" and turning on her side while she pretends to sleep.
But I'm just not ready for it. I love the convenience of her crib, and she's not complaining about it...so I'll see how long we can keep her in there!

we converted dd's crib at 21 months, in the next few weeks (or by the end of june, latest) we are going to move her crib / bed into the nursery and give her a full size bed. I already have the rail for that bed

dd is 26 months old and still doing great in the crib. I plan to keep her there as long as possible!

HECK NO!!!

i plan on keeping him in there as long as possible...3 maybe.

he rolls everywhere and also if he knew that he could get out when he wanted he would never stay in there and he'd get into everything. at this point if he wakes up crazy early we leave him in there to rest for a long time (he's happy and so are we) and he'd never do that with a bed.

DD was 2 last month and she is still in a crib..she loves her bed, sleeps so well in it, so as of now not really in a rush to try a bed.

My boys are 20 months and I moved them into the toddler bed, crib converted, this past weekend. They are doing awesome so far and I am really impressed. I thought that if they woke up they would be all over the place and they just come straight into my room. I have a ranch and I have the hallway with the bedrooms blocked with a fence but they can climb it with no problem. One of my sons fell out on the first night but now I have no issues at all and the love it...

Noah started climbing out of the crib a while ago, we have a convertible crib and its now a day bed with a bed rail. We got this bedrail from Target ( its Munchkin brand). It is HUGE and he so far on the last few months, has never climbed over it( it is fairly high). and the side is so long, he cannot get out the end of the bed, the opening is only like 2 inches. He just calls to us in the AM to come and get him.

DD is almost 2.5 and still in her crib. I think we will transition her in about a month or two, to a twin bed with a rail. We are moving next week so I'll give her a little more time in the bed she's used to in the room she's not used to.

I probably would've transitioned her earlier if she was constantly trying to climb out of her crib but she has never even tried.

Bella was in a crib until 3 years and 3 months...she never needed to move before that so we didn't push it.

We put her into a twin bed with a side rail and we never have had a problem...

Ella moved into a full size bed a few weeks before her 2nd birthday. She's in a platform bed, very low to the ground, so I never needed to put rails on (one side is up against a wall).

I have a gate on her door, so she can't wander, but if she wakes up during the night she calls me from her bed anyway.

In recent weeks, I've started leaving her gate open after I go to bed, and she'll come out on her own in the morning. (she'll be 3 next month)

We moved Taylor into a toddler bed a little over a month ago...about a month after her 2nd bday....honestly, you are all going to think I am crazy, but the crib got to be too much...it was a chore to change the crib sheet b/c I am too short that even if I was on a step ladder I dreaded having to do it.

She is doing amazing in the toddler bed and loves going to bed every night in her big girl bed

DD co-slept with my from infancy so I knew she could handle being in a bed. She was about 18 months when I turned her crib into a toddler bed. At 2 she went into a twin bed. I never used a rail & she's never fallen out of bed.

dd will be three in sept....she loves her crib and has neevr tried to get out of it...she has no desire and loves it....so we'll keep her in it until she is ready!

Nope, and DD will be 3 next month. Still in a crib and sleeping great!
