Mommies of 8+ months babies - is it becoming a "struggle"?

DS is ALL over and not crawling yet.

The changing table is becoming too dangerous. He is swirling all over.

He is jerking himself in his highchair while eating.

He will throw himself backwards while I hold him in the sofa.

I know he can't wait to go places but man.... this is a HUGE struggle with everything.

He is like a little worm.

Oh yeah. We have been in baby acrobatics for months now. I no longer use the changing table. Instead I put him in the middle of my bed. He bucks in his highchair a lot, and he does tumblesaults across his PNP.

Yes, just this last week she's an acrobat. She's always flailing her head backwards, trying to crawl off the couch, squirming all over the changing table and crawling all over/turning in her crib. It really is crazy Chat Icon

The wrestling match on the changing table is HORROR. And he screams during it.

But once he was able to move, it was INSTANTLY better.

Hang in there!

This is actually my favorite period so far, hes now so much more fun b/c some of the frustration is removed.

Yes! My DD has just gotten into pushing me away as I try to help her. She wants to do everything with her crazy arms everywhere. She's not crawling, but she pulls herself across the floor-just no coordination with the legs.

ETA: Oh yeah, my favorite is when she's on my lap and starts squirming down to the floor...she lies back and wiggles her way down as I hold her.

Oh yeah.

He doesn't want to sit still AT ALL.

EVER.

I found myself actually missing the newborn days the other day. Chat Icon

DS is the same way. He's crawling and standing and gets a little temper if you pull him away from somewhere that is dangerous for him to be near. Gone are the days of getting any rest during the day!

This is so my life
DS ROLLS everywhere
He picks up everything from the floor
He turns all over the changing table--not sure how much longer I even have for the table

Chat Icon I just had to bust out laughing seeing this post b/c i was just saying the same thing in my head a few minutes ago. DS is all over the place and into EVERYTHING! He is crawling, cruising and trying to walk now. He is just a machine that i cant keep up with. On top of that he is so rough with everything. He tears up paper, he shakes the file cabinet while holding on to the handle, he tries to get out of his high chair. I took him to red lobster the other day and i wanted to run out of there. I couldn't believe how he was acting. Ahhh the joys of mommyhood Chat Icon

Re: Mommies of 8+ months babies - is it becoming a "struggle"?

Yes - I only use the changing table for poopy diapers - even pee pee diapers I let him stand up as I remove and then throw him down on the floor quickly to get the other one on. Getting him dressed is ONLY on the floor - this started at 6 mts old..... Very hard - he is a wriggly, squirmy little boy!!!!

Re: Mommies of 8+ months babies - is it becoming a "struggle"?

OH no! It gets worse??? DS is 6 mos and I already have this problem - on the changing table he is constantly trying to roll over or sit up - I can't hold him without him climbing all over me - he goes so nuts in the exersaucer I am afraid he is going to break it....AHHHH!

Yup, changing is a nightmare, definitely. Not only is DD rolling all over, but she throws her hands into her privates as soon as the diaper is removed, which is fun with poop down there Chat Icon
