Mommies that have 1st Birthdays approaching
What are your plans??? Having it at home?? restaurant?? big?? small?? I really want it in the house but DH doesn't want our nieces and nephews all over the place. I wish it was in the summer. Backyard BBQ's are so much easier!

Jada's is in march too, and im doing the same. At home. She wouldnt know the difference if it was somewhere else. She'd be more comfortable home anyway. That way, She will be able to have more fun

Re: Mommies that have 1st Birthdays approaching
DD will be one next month and we decided to throw her party at our house. We have it catered so no cooking is involved for me. We didn't want to skimp but at the same time we wanted to celebrate it so to save some $$$ it will be in the house.
I decided on a "cupcake" theme. Sooo excited about it. Having someone create a cake in the shape of a cupcake, bought her this onsie with a cupcake on it made out of rhinestones and says "It's my Party" with a little tutu for her to wear.
As far as guest well since it is at home we're looking at about 25-35 people maybe even more.

Re: Mommies that have 1st Birthdays approaching
well I like to think that my 5month old is NO WHERE EVN NEAR turning one but Im sure time will fly, and to answer your question, we're having it at home... since it's august it will have to be a pool party (although the thought frightens me with so many little ones (cousins, friends etc). Im definately hiring a lifeguard or two.
Home parties are my favorite. Everyone can stay as long as they want, kids are in the comfort of their own home on such a big day that they will be extra tired and cranky

Re: Mommies that have 1st Birthdays approaching
We are having a lunch at a restaurant, I am guessing about 50 people which is more than I wanted but about 20 of them are children and the rest are good friends/family so we really couldn't cut the list... I think it will be fun. I am going to hire an elmo or something for the kids.

We are having about 35-40 people and I think at a resturant in April. I would love to have it at home but it would be a little to tight.

Re: Mommies that have 1st Birthdays approaching
We rented a Community House for Mallorys 1st bday and had about 60 people (family and friends). We had a deli do a huge sandwich tray with salads and Small World Entertainment did a Sesame Street Puppet show for the kids. It was a lot of fuN!

Re: Mommies that have 1st Birthdays approaching
We're having it at a church hall this Saturday, but with the weather forecast predicting 63 degrees, looks like I COULD have had a backyard BBQ in January!!! Who knew???!!!

Re: Mommies that have 1st Birthdays approaching
Brendan will be 1 in march and I really don't want to have a big party at a restaurant or someplace, but I can't fit everyone in my house so I don't know what I'm going to do.

Re: Mommies that have 1st Birthdays approaching
DD's 1st Bday is in February. We are planning to do a small party at home with the family - probably about 20 -25 of us including kids- we will probably have it catered and we are ordering Julia a beautiful princess cake and going to do a princess theme.

Re: Mommies that have 1st Birthdays approaching
Madeline will turning 1 in March - I cant believe it! We are definitely having something, not sure yet of the details. Most likely in the house to save $, but it will be catered. I wish her bday were in the summer, because as someone said it is so much easier to do an outdoor bbq! I will price out restaurants in the area, but I think it is silly to spend a fortune on a 1 yr old bday party that she will not even remember.
