Mommies with DSLR cameras
I'm getting ready to order the Sony A350 and I'm wondering if you found your DSLR (whatever brand you may have) fairly easy to use and understand. Are you happy that you got the DSLR camera or do you regret spending so much money?
TIA

Happy, happy, happy, happy Did I mention I was happy with it?
I have the Nikon d40 and love it. I've only ever used it on the auto setting so far and it's sooooo easy to use!! I LOVE it!!! You will NEVER regret spending the money. My only regret is that I didn't get it before DD was born-- the first year or so of her life the pictures are not that great.
Good luck & enjoy it!

I have a Nikon D50. I LOVE it. Its worth every penny!!! Its so easy on auto(I think its just as easy as a small point and shoot camera).
I can't wait to take a class to learn how to use it manually!

Re: Mommies with DSLR cameras
i think a dslr is great as long as you eventually graduate from auto mode and take advantage of all it has to offer. otherwise, one is fine with a high end point and shoot for much less.

I absolutely LOVE my Nikon d80. Have really just started learning how to use some of the features but the photos and colors are amazing. I can't imagine not having this camera....it was $$$$ but worth every penny!!!!

Re: Mommies with DSLR cameras
I have the Nikon D50 and it was money well spent (and also for all the added lenses and external flashes I also got).
I started out in auto, and now, after reading up and getting some tips from a professional photog, I am officially off auto and using the Apperture Priority setting or manual setting. All I want is good shot of my kids for me!

Re: Mommies with DSLR cameras
I love my DSLR. I used to use a regular manual camera and this is by far the closest I can come to the quality of picture I like.
It is out-of-the-box ready on Auto and Portrait settings, and I read a little at a time from the manual or use the CD to learn new features. Sometimes it is hard to find things on my own in the menu, but the book is very clear to read and helpful.
