Mommy & Me Classes - What age?
DD just turned one and being that she is cared for at home all week, I started thinking about ways I can get her out into the world and interacting with other kids. DH & I have agreed we want to eventually put her in dance and gymnastics, but in the mean time what kinds of classes do you recommend and at what age did your DC start? Thanks!

Re: Mommy & Me Classes - What age?
DD will be 2 in a couple of weeks. I'm planning on starting dance/some sort of sport (soccer?) when she is 3.
I've had her in some type of class though since she was 8 weeks old:
Music Togeter My Gym
Right now we are taking a Mommy and Me cooking class.
There is also a place near me that has drop-in classes (Kindermusik - they have what they call 'messy monday's") We do that from time to time as well.
My DS is 5 months old and I do Music Together with him as well when DD is in school.

Re: Mommy & Me Classes - What age?
i found mommy and me to work best for us around the 2 year old mark.
DD#1 was in a drop off babysitting center at a local church once a week starting around 18 months. we did gymboree when she had just turned 2. she attended a 2 year old dance class which looking back was silly on my part. DD#1 now takes dance at our rec center and we just started gymnastics (she's now a little over 4 1/2). she's also been in pre-school starting 2 1/2
DD#2 turned 2 end of november and we just started a mommy & me at our rec center - she LOVES it! dance at 3 is the earliest i plan on enrolling DD#2. she will start pre-school in the fall and will be one of the oldest in her 2 1/2 year old class...

Re: Mommy & Me Classes - What age?
We started attending library classes with the girls around 8 months. At the time we lived in the Sachem School district and they had great free programs. We are now in Deer Park and they do not offer as many good programs. The girls are now 2 and we go to gymboree with them. They absolutely love it. They also enjoyed it at 8 months.

Re: Mommy & Me Classes - What age?
I started mommy and me with DS at 3 months. He is now 7 months and we still go. He loved it from day1.
I go to tots on track in massapequa . It is a great place with several different classes and very reasonable in price. I think its much better then the few gymboree classes i took him too .

Re: Mommy & Me Classes - What age?
I started music regularly at 7.5 months, but before that did drop in classes when available.
Since then, we've always had at least 1 regular class a week. Since about 18 months, we've had 2 or 3.
