Mommy Brain...Tell us your stories
these are just a few recent ones...
I went to target and forgot to change my shoes and wore my slippers. Thank god they looked like flip flops and they weren't the pink puffy ones
I unpacked the groceries and put the cream cheese in the spice cabinet. My in laws found it when they were visiting
I put the hand mixer in the fridge and dh found it.
I try to unlock the door using the car alarm button.
Will I ever get my brain back

Re: Mommy Brain...Tell us your stories
This is an oldie but a goody
For one of my DS's middle of the night feedings when he was just a few weeks old, I got up half asleep, to make his bottle...
I'm trying to feed him and he's thrashing his head back and forth PO'ed as all heck, totally not like him...
Hand him to my DH in the dark and told him to try...Same thing happens..Dh turns the light on and says " Uh...hun, did you forget something ???"
I forgot to put the powdered formula in the bottle ! I was trying to give my DS water ...Sleep deprivation at its best !

Re: Mommy Brain...Tell us your stories
I've made several washes without putting clothes in the washing machine!
I put chicken in the oven and never turned the oven on. I was so surprised when after an hour, the chicken was so darn cold!
I left our front door unlocked when going out a couple of times!

Re: Mommy Brain...Tell us your stories
Rob and I went to Whatever restaurant it was down on the Maple Ave Docks in Bay Shore.
The parking was horrific. Robbie was a few months old and howling in the backseat. We had a travel system. I took the carry all out of the car and then decided I didn't want to use it and just walked with teh baby over to the restaurant while Rob continued to look for a spot. I heard people yelling and sounding panicked and turned and realized I had not put the seat back in the car - but had actually put it ON THE ROOF before walking off with the baby.
People were freaking out thinking he had forgotten the baby on the roof.
I've also worn pj's to work, worn clothes inside out, left my car running for HOURS, worn 2 different shoes, etc..
OH! And once I was in the store, put a bunch of stuff in the cart and just walked out. I was at the CAR and realized I didn't have any bags because I hadn't paid for anything! And nobody had stopped me! I was so embarrassed walking back INTO the store with a cart full of stuff!

Re: Mommy Brain...Tell us your stories
my moments are a bit different from everyone elses... it's not stuff I did, more stuff I forget I feel like I have alzhiemer's
bank acct # (had the same acct for ove 15 years) my own phone # (over 4 years old) DH's phone # (over 5 years old) One time, I even forgot how to spell DH's last name when I log in to the peds office, I always write my own name instead of DS's
and the latest and most disturbing..... I keep losing data files on my laptop! (I'm home right now, becuase I'm currently downloading from another drive ALL THE SCANS for my latest paper... we're talking 1 gig of data that I accidentally erased from both my laptop AND my portable external drive Holy cr@p, if the folder wasn't on drive #3, I would be out 2 years of work

Re: Mommy Brain...Tell us your stories
This happened just last week...
I was making my son oatmeal for breakfast. I went to put a little cinnamon in it and instead put garlic! Yum!!

Re: Mommy Brain...Tell us your stories
I'm not sure if this is Mommy Brain or Preggo Brain...
I left the house to pick DS up from day care and drove past the day care. As I was driving around, I couldn't remember for the life of me why I left the house! It finally dawned on me that I needed to pick DS up, and I felt so bad for him
Luckily, I wasn't late to pick him up so no one ever knew!

Re: Mommy Brain...Tell us your stories
I have a few...
Like the time I put the bottles on the stove to sterlize them and kept wondering what the weird smell was until I walked into the kitchen and had pot full of melted bottles in them! Lucky I didn't go out and burn down the house.
DH told me a really simple joke and it took me 20 minutes to get it. He refused to explain it to me!
And most recently, our apt. complex has a pool that we need to pay a membership for. The form came and I commented how strange it was that it was $2 cheaper than last year but I sent the check in anyway. I get a phone call from the management office telling me that I forgot to include the tax...I just never looked at the last column even though it was clearly printed there. So I send in a check for the balance and it gets returned to me...because I forgot to put a stamp on the envelope!
I'm so afraid of what's going to happen when I go back to work!

Re: Mommy Brain...Tell us your stories
I've made DS' bottle with coffee grounds instead of powdered formula.
Backed my truck out of the garage ripping the mirror off the passenger side because I was totally exhausted, sick, and DS was screaming his head off. The truck was a week old!

Re: Mommy Brain...Tell us your stories
Yesterday I started to pull DSs pants on with no diaper in place.
Once I got in the car with DS, turned it on, fiddled with my bag for a minute, then started to search madly for the car keys. They were right where I left them, in the ignition, with the car running.
There have been so many more things, I can't even begin to list them. But these are two that stand out.
