If you have any items from your first child that isnt working but your first dc loved, defiantly call the manufacture. My dd loved her fisher price aquarium cradel swing we got 11 months (could have gotten more out of it, but i had fear of her trying to climb out so i stopped using) out if..
Then all of a sudden the fishies stopped spinging around.. i called fisher price and they are sending me a new motor at NO COST!! Now i can use for baby #2.. im sooo excitted!! I was afraid to call but thought hmm whats the worse they can say sorry cant help you.. They didnt !! 
Defiantly try and make that call instead of tossing the item!!

Thanks ! My FP aquarium for the crib stopped working almost immediately and I was too lazy to bring it back- I'll definately give them a call !
