Mom's 60th Birthday Suggestions Please

My mom is turning 60 this year and I have absolutely no idea what to get her! I've been racking my brain and coming up with nothing, and of course, DH is no help


My mom has MS and is resigned to a wheelchair or motorized scooter when she's out of the house. I know she would love to go to a spa; get a pedicure; have a massage - but she can't get up on the tables or get into the chairs. I've been searching for places that specifically deals with handicapped persons, but I can't find any and doubt they exist.

Things like b'way shows are equally as hard, plus I think my dad is working on something like that for her.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I wanted to do maybe a food delivery (like healthy chef creations) but I can't fathom the prices!

Anyone ever do one of those fall foliage cruises that the circle line offers? Is it worth it? Are they even handicap assessable?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I'm gonna post on Twitter. I follow a bunch of social workers who live in both NYC and LI. Maybe they would have some suggestions.

Also, what about having someone come to her to give her a massage/do her nails.

I was thinking having someone come to the house and give her the pedicure, but her feet twitch and spasm when you touch them, hence why I was looking for somewhere that specialized in special needs. Plus she's said to me over and over she missed getting in the massage chair.

No problem. Isn't there an MS society or similar group here on LI? Maybe you can contact them too and they would know of specialized resources.
