Moms, any suggestions?
DS is 11 months old. He has this bad habit of gagging when he wants to get out of someplace (carseat, pack n play, high chair)even if he is in there for only a couple of minutes. Today he did it when he wanted something that is not safe to play with and I didn't give it to him. I have tried to ignore it in the hopes that he will eventually realize that I am not going to give in. The last time it happened was when he was in his carseat and he wanted to get out of it and of course that just can not happen since I was driving at the time, he gagged so much that he actually threw up. Any suggestions as to what I can do to stop this behavior? I fear that it is only going to get worse since he is realizing that I react to it because I don't want him to throw up. I have tried saying NO every time he does it, but he just laughs and continues to do it until he gets his way.
Sorry it's so long. TIA!

Re: Moms, any suggestions?
DS doesn't gag but he did bang his head and he would move from the area rug to the wood floors when he did this and I ignored it like the other mom's said to and he stopped doing it after 3-4 weeks of ignoring it. He is also 11 months and now when he doesnt get his way or is frustrated he puts his thumb in his mouth and runs it between his top and bottom teeth once and then screams. I am waiting for this to stop now because I am ignoring it also.
I noticed the key with ignoring it is to be consistant with it. It is hard because your DS actually threw up but I would imagine if you just clean it up and go about your business he will probbly stop but it will be hard on you (I know it would be hard on me).
I would just try and giving him different toys to distract him or sing and he will forget.

Thanks for your advice, I will try to ignore it more even if it means that I have clean up throw up, I just feel bad to see him throw up. I hope it stops soon. Thanks again
