Moms/Dads of Thumbsuckers
Just curious, did they always suck the same thumb or did they suck both?
And another question - for ones that have older children that sucked their thumbs, did you see any correlation between the thumb that they sucked to which hand they wrote with?
I know weird questions

She sucks both. I will take one thumb out and she quickly puts the other one in. She is an ambisucker.

SHe only sucks her left thumb. When she had a blister on it, she tried to suck the right but told me it didn't taste right.

ds will only suck his left thumb. and he is also a lefty. Hes 4, i think he will be sucking his thumb till hes at least 40.

DS sucks his left thumb and has never sucked the other one. NOt sure what hand he will write with b/c he is too young....however, I sucked my thumb and wrote with the hand that I sucked that thumb.

DD only sucks her left... Its too early for me to tell whether she'll be lefty or righty, but she does favor her right hand when she writes and such.

Always, always the left thumb, since she's about 2-3 months old (21 months now). She sucks her thumb and uses her index finger to rub her eyebrow.
Can't tell what hand she uses yet, a bit too young, but I'm thinking she goes more for the right.

DS sucks both thumbs. He will suck one, pull it out and put the other one in.

DD#1 sucks her fingers(middle & ring) on her left hand. SHE IS 8 Yrs OLD! She is righty. Hopefully she will stop before her wedding
DD#2 sucks both thumbs, she is only 9 months old.

Emme only sucks her right thumb and has been doing so since birth. She also always favors her right side for everything. The ped said that is usually sign that she will be right handed.

Luckily I am not a mom of a thumb sucker, but I sucked my thumb until I was 9
I would only suck my right thumb and I am right handed.
